What "archived" means here

An archived car has been withdrawn from the rental fleet. It cannot be booked, quoted or reserved, and it has no rate — the daily, weekly and monthly prices that once applied to it no longer stand. We keep the entry because the car itself is still a useful reference point: knowing that a particular model was in the fleet, and what replaced it, is usually the fastest way to find the right car among the ones we do have.

How the replacement suggestions are chosen

Each archived vehicle is matched against the live fleet in order of closeness — the same brand first, then the same model family, then the same body type, then the same luxury or performance class, with the daily rate used to separate close calls. Only cars available to rent today are suggested, and where nothing in the fleet is a genuine match we link the brand page rather than pad the row with something unrelated.
